How to decide what to delegate first

The hardest part of outsourcing is not finding someone capable. It is deciding what to let go of first. Most founders try to delegate everything at once, lose track of the work, and end up pulling it all back. There is a calmer way.
Start with the task you repeat most often and that asks the least of your judgment. Calendar management, inbox triage, basic research, and scheduling are good candidates. They are frequent, predictable, and rarely the reason your business exists.
Write down everything you did yesterday, then mark two columns: how often it repeats, and how much it truly needs you. The task that repeats often and needs you least is your first delegate. Everything else can wait until that one is running smoothly.
Once that first task is in good hands, the rest gets easier. You will have proof that delegation works, a rhythm for handing things off, and the quiet confidence that comes from seeing your plate get lighter one task at a time.
